For Spekky users wanting to do transmitter conversions, this new module from OrangeRx looks really good:

The great thing about this one is it has a setup switch where options can be set for output power, protocol, channel mapping, framerate, etc... really neat.

...and they've done a really nice document for it:

This looks great.. I've had 100% success with Orange Rx's and I've had a lot thru my hands.... Probably over 50 - 60 now. I build a lot of indoor aerobatic and multirotor models, get bored with them and sell them on. I also use them on my s/c models.

I tried a quick test last night after modding the 3 standard channels or 14 channel S- Bus Rx. I extended the aerial using a frsky one , cutting of the UFL and soldering it to the Rx in place of the standard short one.. Not forgetting to solder the screen .....

It had greater range than an old but genuine AR6100 park fly Spektrum Rx ( with dual antenna , that work, not just for show.)

I bought 6 of these for the single channel models ... at under £3.00 when they were on offer I couldn't resist, but they are proving useful for multirotor flight controllers as a number of them now accept S-Bus or PPM.

Good cheap DSM2/DSMX receivers :- http://www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php? ... ry&path=59 , despite being "Lemon" brand , these are good reliable receivers

I've used the little 1.4g lemon 6 channel with no pins. It's a great little RX.
Just be careful if you use it with the 1.7 or 1.9g HK servos. They work fine with a 1s setup but if you're running an ESC it'll provide 5v. They will run on 5v but can burn out.
I had a rudder servo literally melt in flight & was lucky to get the model back in one piece.
